Pee Shee Bbang
Hi all.
So here I am, on NYE, at a PC Bang at COEX Mall.
I’m heading down to Suwon in a couple of hours with my cousin…and I just have some time to kill. I looked around some stores, but I would rather avoid the crazy shoppers, the holiday rush, and couples. Besides, I have a lot of emails and facebook messages to check considering I haven’t been in front of a real computer in...
I am updating from my wicked iPod Touch. While listening to “Oh Tannenbaum,” in between Minesweeper sessions. Awesome. Technology is so awesome.
It will be a busy week but I will update once I am in front of a real computer.
Things to look forward to:
Meeting old faces (Nayoung, Jamie)
Meeting close family friends
Musical
Lotte World-fob style
Reunion with cousins on my Dad’s...
Will someone PLEASE tell the Koreans that the middle finger is NOT called the “퍽유 핀거” and that “퍽유” is actually a swear word so they should not use it so freely and frequently.
(I used my middle finger to press a button) “Teacher, f*ck you finger! f*ck you finger!”
me: WHAT.
"6th grade, you need to CHILL OUT"
My two favorite grades, fourth and sixth, were awful today.
The fourth grade girls were super bratty and obnoxious - I’ve spoiled them way too much in the past month as we focused our energy into practicing “Baby.” They were complaining that the textbook class was boring — I was like “Well, too bad! You guys had your fun dancing and singing for a month and half. Now...
much lawlve for kids
Those who have facebook may have already read my status update…those who do not, here you go:
One of my students leaned in close to whisper something into my ear. She accidentally burped instead. It smelled like jawesome kimchee and jamazing fish we ate for lunch today. She wanted to know if she could borrow the markers. I said no.
Then later on, one of my other students leaned in, which I...
be my buddy
So I found out a couple of days ago that I will have a lot more time during the winter than I had thought.
I basically have Christmas - January 10th off. From the 10th-21st, I have to lead English Camp at my school. Then after that, I can just sort of play until school starts again some time in March.
Before I head back to the States, I must visit: Jeju Island Japan DMZ Busan Daegu
If money...
야무러라잉
(Ya-Mu-Luh-Lah-Ing: “Shut your face” in Chungbuk dialect)
I totally am not sore from snowboarding this week.
Nope, not at all…
NOT.
Wow. My left arm is sore from just carrying the board and I’m bruised all over…and many of you should know how easily I bruise. Both of my knees, my left arm, and my butt are purple. Ouch.
The bunny hill in Korea aren’t even...
Happy Kids
That previous entry was really rude. Sorry, guys. I’m sad that I am no longer a youth who gets super excited for snow. I do miss those days. I’ve become a grumpy, old, grouch.
Anyway, the all-school assembly / variety show went super well. I was actually really nervous because they put my name in the pamphlet twice, which meant that all of the parents will now know who I am and will...
Welcome back, tumblr.
I’m not gonna lie,
my students make me feel so good about myself.
They seem to be impressed by everything I do and they think I excel in everything like…
violin, piano, dancing, singing, taekwondo, gymastics..oh, and they think I’m really good at rock, paper, scissors. They all want to verse me.
HAR HAR HAR.
Little do they know that “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”...
Faces and Places
It’s only been a little over one week since I received my paycheck.
I’m already down. Like, by a lot.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I have a problem.
Items I would never purchase in the States, I have no problem splurging on here in Korea.
I.E. A FOX FUR SCARF.
What the hell? Did I really purchase a fox to wear around my neck? Oh my gosh. Why?
But it was a...
Praise the Lord!
I DID IT! Without the help of Korean Apple Geniuses!
I arrived in Seoul a bit too late so the Apple (in Korea, it is called A# or Frisbee) customer service center was closed. I kind of begged the guy to at least look at it (made sure to tell him “I was on a 2hour bus ride from ChungBuk” and give him a really desperate look) and he obliged.
He didn’t do much.

True Koreans
My alcohol-diet was pretty unsuccessful.
Week 1: I ended up having like two cocktail drinks (but one per night) instead of one can of beer.
One can per week seemed impossible while living in Korea so I changed my limit to something a little more realistic. I allowed myself to have two drinks for the second week.
Week 2: I had a glass of wine on Sunday night but that apparently didn’t...
Just had the ultimate ahjumma experience, ever.
It was great.
I was fed meat, prepared by drunk ahjummas, with their kimchi-smelling hands, and shared soju in the same glass in a teeny tiny back/storage room of a shoe store.
Awesome.
